is a Dutch foundation which existed for four years. One of its board members has been based in Malawi for 1,5 year to initiate the Malawian NGO “My Village Organisation”, which is (financial) independent since June 2010.

Malawi, a land with almost 13 million residents, has 1 million orphans, half of them caused by the Aids-epidemic. MalawiMoon Foundation fights for a community where women and men will stay alive and healthy to take care of their children. We believe sharing knowledge about HIV/Aids and reproductive health again and again, gives women and men strength and courage to protect themselves and their family against HIV (re)infection.

 

My Village Organisation will continue to exists to improve knowledge on HIV/Aids and related subjects, by visiting villages, training village groups and building up a network of knowledge and (female) condom promotion and distribution among women and men in the grassroots of Malawi, in order to reduce the spread of HIV.
